Brett & Co. is a professional tax consultancy and accountancy firm based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
We provide tax advisory services to the general public on all Irish taxation issues and offer specialist taxation advice to practising solicitors, accountants and financial advisors.
We also provide accountancy and business advisory services, looking after the bookkeeping, payroll, company secretarial and accounting needs of various private individual traders, partnerships and companies. In addition, we advise individuals, traders and companies on a range of business and financial matters such as incorporation and funding decisions.
David Brett BBS, FCCA, AITI - Principal/Proprietor
David Brett is the Principal in Brett & Co. He is a member of the Irish Taxation Institute and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
David has extensive experience in numerous areas of taxation and accountancy, having worked in financial services, industry and public practice. He has also written articles on a range of taxation issues.
He spent several years working with AIB Capital Markets, helping foreign multi-national companies establish Irish subsidiary companies in Dublin's IFSC. In this role, he provided advice on Irish taxation to some of the biggest companies in the world on a variety of issues including international trading, corporate group re-organisations, VAT on international supplies and VAT on property transactions. He also oversaw the preparation of annual accounts for subsidiary companies and the accompanying company secretarial obligations.
He then established his own practice, providing taxation and accountancy services to the general public. He has combined this with work for several large multinational firms on a range of taxation and accounting projects. These have included providing Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax and VAT advice on the implementation of efficient European trading structures and assistance to US multi-nationals on compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
David has built up a broad and varied client base and has helped all manner of individuals, traders and companies with numerous taxation issues and accounting needs.
